The Dr Jivraj Mehta Institute of Technology, Anand(DJMIT) established the Department of Mathematics & Applied Science in 2010. The Department of Mathematics & Applied Science offers different types of Mathematics within a span of 2 years that covers the entire spectrum of Mathematics.

Mathematics provides clarity and precision to value and intuitive ideas. In most of the cases, modelling of physical processes is usually done using mathematics. In the B.E. course, mostly post-calculus topics are covered viz., Differential equations, Multiple integrals, Fourier series, Fourier transforms, Laplace transforms, Vector calculus, Numerical methods etc. Physics also plays an important role in the engineering field. The faculties of physics are very keen on applying the subject knowledge to various engineering branches whether it is Mechanical or Electrical or other. They also work on the self-taken projects by the students. Also, the department takes special care in helping the students in overcoming their difficulties in mathematics and convincing them the importance of the subject in their professional life. The department also interacts with the students and faculty of all other departments in giving suggestions and solutions to their problems involving mathematical applications. The faculty published their paper in national & international conferences and journals.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dr. Jivraj Mehta Institute of Technology (DJMIT) was established in the year 2010 to meet the demand of globally competitive Mechanical engineers. The department started its 4 years’ undergraduate program in 2010 and 2 years post graduate program in “Thermal Engineering” in the year 2014 to fulfill the need of specialized skills.

The Department is equipped with necessary equipment’s in the laboratories to help in teaching learning process. The department has laboratories in the area of fluid mechanics, Heat transfer, Fluid power engineering, Manufacturing process, Refrigeration & air conditioning, Computer aided design etc. The Department conducts workshops, seminars and expert talks to enhance the knowledge of students and to make them aware of recent innovation in Mechanical engineering. Department organizes government funded seminars like GEDA, GUJCOST, etc. The staff member participates in various Faculty development programmes and Short term training programmes to enhance /update their knowledge.

In order to ensure overall development of students, the department follows holistic approach that incorporates career counseling & industrial training along with academic activities. Industrial visits have been organized for students to various industries like Hyundai, Adani port, Kakrapar nuclear power plant, ISRO, Wanakbori thermal power plant and several others. Department facilitates and encourages students to pursue internships in various industries. Students get opportunity to develop in-house laboratory setups and projects.

The department has good infrastructure and is equipped with full-fledged laboratories which provide a unique learning environment to enable the students to face the challenges. The department has qualified and dedicated faculty members to provide good technical support and give individual attention to all the students. We hope that we will continue to deliver our best to serve society and expect our students to pass on the skills that they have developed during their interaction with our department. Many of the alumni are well-placed in reputed organizations like TCS, Pentacle, Motorola, HCL, Idea cellular etc. Others are pursuing M.Tech, MBA and MS courses in India & abroad. The B.E. course in Electrical Engineering of DJMIT, Mogar, Anand, was started in 2010 and has been keeping pace with the latest technology in industries. We have always maintained a policy of providing students with state-of-the-art systems with the regularly upgraded curriculum. The department has well-experienced faculty members in our field. The department has enrolled a few candidates for PhD. Hence the department is getting fully equipped to undertake research & development in the state of the art technology. The Department of Computer Engineering offers undergraduate ‘Bachelor of Engineering’ degree that covers the entire spectrum of computing. It is a four year degree course affiliated to Gujarat Technological University of Ahmedabad, Gujarat with a total intake of 60 students.

Computer Engineering, one of the fastest growing engineering fields for the past few years, is a very broad discipline which addresses the relationship and interactions between software, hardware and information in solving real engineering problems. The “Bachelor of Computer Engineering” degree program has a two-part objective. The first is to provide students with a strong background in mathematics, physics, and engineering science. The second objective is to provide students with the skills necessary to be effective contributors in a quality-oriented, customer-focused environment. Courses throughout the program emphasize an open-ended, design-oriented approach to solving engineering problems. Teamwork, communication skills, an interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving and a research attitude are some of the skills that the students develop. The students and the faculty are involved in R & D activities as a result of which numbers of papers are published in national & international conferences and journals. Also, our staffs are continuously upgrading themselves by going for higher studies and learning new technologies.

The Department is equipped with latest equipments and experimental setups in the laboratories
to help in teaching learning process. The department also conducts number of workshops,
seminars and conferences to enhance the knowledge and to get awareness among the students
with the most recent innovations.
