WELCOME TO CIVIL DEPARTMENT

Words from head of department

The department gives its students not only theoretical knowledge but also makes students aware about the ongoing scenario of the construction industry by regularly arranging site visits for the students and also the faculty members share their knowledge and experience to the students. Further the students are encouraged to enhance their capabilities and to sharpen their knowledge and presentation skills by open group discussion conducted during the lecture hours. This gives the students an opportunity to share their views about the various topics.

  • 10 + 2 Pattern and Std. 12th from Science Stream.
  • Candidate should appear in JEE (Main)/ GUJCET of the current admission year.

Department history

Civil Engineering photo

The Department of Civil Engineering at Dr. Jivraj Mehta Institute of Technology (DJMIT) was established in the year 2010 with an intake of 60 students.

The Department is equipped with latest equipments and experimental setups in the laboratories
to help in teaching learning process. The department also conducts number of workshops,
seminars and conferences to enhance the knowledge and to get awareness among the students
with the most recent innovations.

The discipline of Civil Engineering focuses on a multifaceted growth of students and is designed to equip them not only with the core theoretical and practical fundamentals of the discipline, but also evolve them into confident individuals, ready to make an impact on whatsoever profession (Industrial work, Research, Internship) they choose to pursue.

Civil Engineering is a wonderful career path if you’re interested in improving the daily lives of your fellow man. Civil Engineering is the major industry behind the infrastructure that supports today’s society. Between clean drinking water, water treatment, large structures such as skyscrapers, bridges, towers, foundations of structures, intelligent transportation networks, all roadway and railway design, it all comes down to Civil Engineers. It is the oldest of the engineering disciplines and the one most responsible for benefitting society.

As a Civil Engineer one can get employed in government or private sector organizations. One can start his//her own consultancy firm where you can become self employed and can also give livelihood to many number of people. There is nothing like retirement for an experienced Civil Engineer

VISION

To develop innovative and practical approaches with the theoretical skills in the field of civil engineering.

Mission

  1. To motivate the students to take up higher studies and innovative research projects.
  2. To prepare the students to design and develop competitive infrastructure projects.
  3. To produce technically sound and ethically oriented students by imparting quality education through improved teaching- learning process.
